Overview

Responsible for overall plant operation on assigned shift. When more than one mechanic is present , complete cooperation is expected.

Daily reads evening and night log books reporting to plant engineer and failures or derangement's.

Daily inspects all equipment operations, making adjustments or repairing where necessary.

Reports any malfunctioning of major equipment to Plant Engineer.

Maintains gas, air, water and waste water system.

Performs preventive maintains record of work accomplished on Engineering maintenance equipment.

Records activities and maintains record of work accomplished on engineering maintenance equipment.

Performs inspection of all heating equipment, boiler, fire and water sides, pumps, heating units during the summer months.

Selects proper tools and materials for each job assignment. Maintains tools and equipment in proper and safe operating condition.

Follow duties assigned in Fire Saftey Class. Conducts Fire Extinguisher and Fire Hose Inservice Class.

Sets air/fuel mechanical linkage on boiler. Clean and repair of boilers, Chemical testing of boiling water treatment.

Maintains oxygen system: deliver oxygen refills and new set-ups to resident's' rooms.

Out trips when necessary, deliver blood or x-ray to hospital, pick up prescriptions at pharmacy, pick up supplies, etc.

Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning on wheelchair as scheduled.

Help grounds keeper with snow removal and mowing of grass when necessary.

Sheetrock , taping and painting of walls. Tile work and grouting of walls and floors wallpapering.

Performs all carpentry work to be done, doors, frame's, hinges, locks , windows repairs, making of shelves, cabinets, etc.

Maintains all laundry equipment, washer, dryers

Maintain kitchen equipment , ovens, stoves, dishwasher, etc. Periodically steam clean kitchen area.

Snake out sewer lines. Check operation of sewer plant on daily basis .

Maintain all plumbing , toilets, sinks, water fountains, etc.

Maintain all electrical work and air conditioner's. welding.

Engrave employee name pins , residents name plates, etc.

Working with hazardous chemicals and asbestos , observes f HAZCOM PROGRAM.

Attends staff development programs including mandatory education subjects.

In the spirit of cooperation and in response to resident needs, it may be necessary to perform other related duties as requested and unrelated duties in case f emergency.
