Responsibilities

The Infection Control Coordinator is responsible for the Infection Prevention Program and tracking all infections, labs, antibiotics on an ongoing basis.

  • The Infection Control Coordinator will be responsible for reporting Communicable diseases to the NYSDOH and the NYC DOH.
  • Collaborates with the Medical Director/CNO/Administrator on any communicable diseases identified as reportable. Reports to the NYSDOH/NYCDOH and ensures all tracking is completed.
  • Conducts Monthly Infection Control Audits; Joins the Environment of Care Rounds Team Weekly.
  • Reports Infection Control data, trends, and antibiotic stewardship initiatives monthly.
  • Serves as a resource for facility staff on all issues related to Infection Control Prevention.
  • Provides In-Services on Infection Control Standards of Practices to Care Members in all departments on all shifts on an ongoing basis.
  • Develops and implements standards of practice, policies, and procedures, particularly in problematic areas or areas of ambiguity.
  • Provides support, guidance, and counseling as needed to patients and families.

 

Job Type:  Full Time, Day

 

Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in an Infection Control position
  • Infection Control Preventionist Certification, preferred

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Salary

$95,000 - $112,000 per year
