Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure federal and state regulations related to the maintenance of resident/participant patient records are followed.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure records requested are organized and meet the documentation request requirements.
  • Follow Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations when reviewing, processing and sending records.
  • Experience with preparing medical records for various agencies and entities to include legal records requests and subpoenas.
  • Experience in preparing and conducting training to providers, LNHAs, and medical records personnel organizationally.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary: $33 to $37 per hour

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Certification through AHIMA – Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) of Certified Coding Assistant (CCA) is a plus.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical, administrative, ethical, and legal requirements and standards related to healthcare delivery and privacy of protected patient information
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Health Information Management (HIM) position. Related experience in healthcare will be considered.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field
