Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall coordination and implementation of the Infection Control Program in the facility.
  • Assures a high quality of resident care by identifying areas which need special monitoring programs and initiating and maintaining these programs so that infection hazards will be minimized or eradicated.
  • Assists the Director of Nursing in surveillance, epidemic investigation, in service and quality assurance as part of the facility’s infection control programs , to include making rounds on nursing units to evaluate residents and environment problem areas. Monitoring isolation practice and following through on all suspected infections and communicable diseases. Compiling statistics relevant to the infection control report to the Quality Assurance Committee.
  • Acts as a liaison with staff and administration in matters relevant to infection control and environmental health and safety.
  • Assists in the development and execution of vaccination programs for employees and residents to minimize spread of infections throughout the facility.
  • Responsible for the reporting information required by the City or State Health Departments, the center for Disease Control, or other official bodies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Salary: $105,000 - $110,000 per year

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Infection Control Policies and procedures.
  • Current member of Association for Practitioners in Infection Control

Education:

  • Graduate of state approved school of nursing
