  • Overview

    Responsible for supervising Nutrition Services Team at all PACE locations. Plans, organizes, controls, and coordinates activities of Nutrition Services to provide care and expertise for the participants and staff. Collaborates with Nutrition Services Director in developing and implementing nutrition programs, function as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team to implement nutrition care plans, and establish and maintain policies, standards and programs for the provision of optimal nutrition care to participants. This includes coordinating all clinical nutrition activities and determining and implementing appropriate staffing levels.   


    • Schedules, trains, supervises employees within the Nutrition Services Department
    • Evaluates employees within the Nutrition Services Department
    • Approves time off request ensuring adequate coverage within the Nutrition Services Department
    • Recognizes and adopts activities appropriate to the specific needs of the participant population and demonstrates knowledge of specific issues directly related to age and medical condition specific to the participant
    • Collaborates with Nutrition Services Director in interviewing and selecting employees within the Nutrition Services department
    • Collaborates with Nutrition Services Director in developing and revising departmental regulations, policies and procedures
    • Ensures compliance with polices/procedures and regulatory agencies
    • Completes quality and compliance audits
    • Assists in developing nutrition wellness programs for participants at all PACE sites
    • Reviews dietitians’ assessments and progress notes in collaboration with the Director of Nutrition Services
    • Ensures participants’ nutritional needs are being met
    • Conducts staff meetings and meets with members of other departments to coordinate activities
    • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other facility departments to provide a unified approach to participant care
    • Analyzes, evaluates, and solves interdepartmental problems; recommends solutions when necessary
    • Maintains friendly working atmosphere
    • Facilitates Interdisciplinary Team meetings
    • Conducts audits to ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen by maintaining to specified standards
    • Coordinates with food service vendors ordering food and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory
    • Ensures that emergency food supply is maintained, stored and available according to state regulations and company policy
    • Follows assigned safety, security, and fire procedures
    • Maintains professional continuing education



    Education & Experience

    Formal Education: Bachelor's Degree

    License, Registration, and / or Certification Requirement: Yes


    Experience Requirements

    • 2 years work experience in clinical nutrition

    License Requirements

    • Current registration to practice as a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
    • State certification - Certified Dietitian Nutritionist Preferred
