  • Overview

    Works with the Chief of Nursing Officer in organizing and administering the Department of Nursing. Assumes responsibilities delegated by the Chief of Nursing Officer.


    • Assists in coordinating the activities of Nursing Services with other departments to achieve and maintain efficient and competent Nursing Service, and to promote and maintain harmonious relationships among personnel, medical staff, residents and others.
    • Informs the Director of Nursing of activities and special problems related to nursing care of the residents. Assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department and has the authority in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
    • Coordinates Rehab Nursing Program to improve the quality of life of all residents.
    • Participates in Wound Care Rounds with the Interdisciplinary Team.
    • Serves as a member of the Quality Assurance & Assessment Committee.
    • Assists in planning, developing, organizing and implementing departmental goals and objectives.
    • Responsible for developing and/or revising departmental policies.
    • Assist in developing and controlling budgeted expenses.
    • Conducts and attends meetings as appropriate.
    • Submits appropriate reports as required.
    • Analyzes, evaluates and solves inter-and interdepartmental problems. Recommends solutions when necessary.
    • Maintains and assures a nursing Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement effectively and creates calendar for monitoring compliance.
    • Insures all code and regulatory requirements are met.
    • Establishes standards and work procedures for the nursing staff in accordance with established policies.
    • Responsible for Concerns, Accident & Incident (Non Reportable)
    • Monitor 24 hour report relating to logging in the A & I book.
    • Rotating on call schedule ADON
    • Manager Huntington Unit
    • Random rounding 2x weekly submit report and corrections
    • Supervisor of 3pm-11pm Shift
    • Rehab documentation S/P admission and daily rehab rounds
    • Falls tracking and trending use of IPRO
    • Chair Safe Patient Handling of Huntington Units, Monthly Fall Committee and Wounds meeting.
    • Responsible to attend and follow-up CMI and Safety Meeting.



    NYS Registered Nurse License, Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree plus 3 years of experience and 2 years of Supervisory Nursing experience.
