Responsibilities

 

The efficient performance of housekeeping duties according to prescribed procedures and standards.

 

 

  1. Cleans assigned rooms, bathrooms, sitting rooms, TV rooms, laundry, clean and soiled linen rooms, nourishment station, hallways, etc., as assigned and maintains such in a safe, clean and sanitary manner.
  2. Performs all house cleaning duties such as mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, aseptic cleaning of lavatories and equipment etc.
  3. Responsible for all cleaning materials and tools that have been issued for use in this capacity.
  4. Reports all items in need of repair immediately to the Housekeeping Supervisor or the Director of Housekeeping.
  5. Keeps housekeeping work carts and closets neat and clean at all times.
  6. Responsible for proper storage of housekeeping carts and supplies at the end of the working day.
  7. Check draperies, shades and spreads to see that they are neat and clean and hanging properly.
  8. Disinfects bed, furniture and entire lavatory upon discharge or transfer of resident/patient.
  9. Replenishes soap and towel supplies as needed.
  10. Responsible for overall cleanliness of the entire area assigned.
  11. Attends all meetings and in-service programs as assigned.
  12. Uses floor polisher (buffer) in areas where needed.
  13. Assists in the Laundry Department if necessary.
  14. Scrub and wax floorsas directed.
  15. Perform all other tasks as directed or indicated.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience in institutional Housekeeping preferred.
