ArchCare at Mary Manning Walsh Home is dedicated to delivering comprehensive care to residents in need of rehabilitation, long term care, hospice, palliative or other needs that cannot be met in the home setting.


C.N.A will work closely as part of the health care team to ensure that residents care needs are met with compassion, dignity and high level of quality care. The Ideal candidate for this position must:

  • Provides appropriate closure with families in compliance with organizational protocols
  • Serves as a role model for fellow team members in providing closure that is firm yet sensitive to family needs
  • Promotes patient/family centered care, advocacy and support


  1. Assists in ambulation and transfers from and to bed, chair, toilet, and stretcher. This includes transporting residents via wheelchair, stretcher or ambulation to other parts of the home when necessary and ensure proper assist with resident’s assigned to “2 person assist”
  2. Assists residents with feeding which include serving water and nourishment, and collecting meal trays; bathing, dressing as indicated which includes but not limited to bed baths, tub baths and skin care, trimming nails and assists with care of hair and oral hygiene. A.M. and P.M. care;
  3. Offers and removes bedpans and/or urinals as well as keeps incontinent resident clean and dry.
  4. Ensures that resident’s personal clothing is properly maintained by sorting folding and distributing. Also will ensure room is tidy with changed linen, made bed and proper replacement of towels and wash cloths. This also includes tending the residents unit such as: Flowers, dresser, closet, bedside stand, etc.
  5. May prepare residents to receive Holy Communion.
  6. Executes and delivers high quality customer service which includes answers lights/call bells and answering inquiries by residents or visitors.
  7. Collects specimens and measures intake and output and keeps records of same.
  8. Takes temperature, pulse and respiration. May give simple enemas, and may prepare ice packs or other resident care equipment when directed to do so by the Nurse in charge.
  9. Observes residents and notes physical condition, attitude, reactions, appetite and reports changes or unusual findings to the Charge Nurse responsible for reporting residents’ complaints to the Nurse or Supervisors.


  • NYS C.NA certification
  • HS/GED a must
  • Good Communication skills
