  • Overview

    Provides fast, accurate and courteous telephone service, and receives and directs all persons who require information pertinent to the home, participants and staff.


    Provides assistance, guidance and direction to visitors, participants and staff.

    Gives dialing instructions when necessary.

    Orders supplies for our Day Health Center and our Recreation Therapy services, or others as needed (through the M-System)

    Provides clerical assistance as needed in various functions when there is time available to do so.

    Makes every effort to see that all calls reach the proper party.

    Pages appropriate part when necessary.

    Takes messages for those she/he is unable to reach and email to the proper party.

    Reports all malfunctioning switchboard equipment promptly to telephone repair and supervisor, and keeps record of to "whom" and "when" it was reported and when problem cleared.

    Responds to emergency calls following established protocols.

    Assists in maintenance and care of department equipment and supplies.

    Learns and follows assigned safety, security and fire procedures.

    Reports any accidents and dangerous situations immediately.

    Maintains confidentiality of organizational and participant information.

    Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Maintains required records and statistics as directed.

    Maintain organization of reception area.


    Fulfills role of Mail room clerk as needed by organizing incoming mail to the appropriate folders.

    Receives telegrams, messages, flowers, newspapers and other items, notifies appropriate personnel, arranges for delivery of items to residents and appropriate personnel.



    Keeps records of all participants who sign themselves out of the center for the day.

    Assist other employees where needed.

    Is responsible and cooperative with supervisors, fellow employees, residents and families.

    Maintains friendly working atmosphere.

    Maintains professional attitude.

    Maintains professional appearance.

    Provides assistance with resident care where applicable.

    Promotes the organization's and departments image, philosophy and policies.

    Learns and follows organizational and departmental policies and procedures.


    Formal Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

    Experience: 1 Year

    License, Registration, and / or Certification Requirement: No

    Minimum Knowledge: Requires basic employment skills in clerical, service, or manual areas.

    Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    ·         Bi-Lingual in Spanish/English a requirement


    Experience Requirements



    1 year of experience with a frail or elderly population.


    Requires thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field.


    Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
