  • Overview

    Reporting to ArchCare’s SVP, Compliance, the Director of Compliance provides leadership to ArchCare’s enterprise-wide Compliance program, including ArchCare’s nursing homes, health plans, home care agencies, and assisted living program. The Director will oversee the 1) development of an annual compliance risk assessment for each of the divisions and 2) the annual compliance audit workplan for each of the divisions, which will be based on the results of the risk assessments.  The Director is also responsible for coordinating with the SVP, Compliance, and the other compliance officers to ensure that all compliance issues, reports, complaints, and questions with respect to the ArchCare entities are properly addressed as they arise, and that appropriate compliance assurance reviews, audits, or other follow-up are conducted with respect to those functions. The Director will coordinate with the SVP, Compliance, ArchCare’s response to audit requests from government entities. S/he will lead a team of two auditors, at least one of whom is a clinician.

    Responsibilities

    ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­1. Oversee and Develop Annual Compliance Risk Assessment and Create Compliance Audit Workplan

     

    • Analyze new regulatory requirements, emerging regulatory and enforcement risk areas, past internal and external audit results, and other relevant factors for each ArchCare Entity
    • Create risk assessment methodology for each ArchCare Entity, arraying important risks and developing a risk ranking methodology
    • Meet with teams of stakeholders at each ArchCare Entity Communicate to present the risk assessment methodology and solicit their opinions on the relative rankings of risks as well as whether other risks should be included
    • Using the results of the risk assessment, create a compliance audit work plan for the enterprise, including a component for each Entity.
    • Summarize and present the results of the risk assessment for each Entity in a concise and meaningful format for review by stakeholders and review and approval by the Executive Compliance Steering Committee, and governing bodies members
    • Maintain consistent and complete business records of risk assessment and workplan process
    1. Create and Implement Compliance Audits
    • Apply sound methodological principals to design compliance audits included in the Compliance Audit Workplan. Select objectives and scope so as to assure completion of the Audit Workplan within the year’s timeframe.
    • For each audit completed, summarize draft results in a concise yet comprehensive format, and meet with the relevant operational team to explain findings and make any changes deemed necessary as a result of the operational team’s response.
    • Summarize audits completed quarterly to Executive Compliance Steering Committee, and to the Health Plans’ Boards and ArchCare Boards as deemed necessary by the SVP, Compliance
    • Maintain consistent and complete business records of audits
    • Supervise clinical and/or non clinical compliance auditors
    1. Coordinate Responses to Compliance Issues
    • Coordinate with the SVP, Compliance and Compliance Officers of ArchCare Entities to ensure that all compliance issues, reports, complaints, and questions with respect to the ArchCare Entities are properly addressed as they arise, and that appropriate compliance assurance reviews, audits or other follow-up are conducted with respect to those functions. Note: a vast majority of the follow up will be performed by employees within the Entity that is the source of the complaint. This position will be mainly coordinating the responses.
    • Maintain record of follow up to all issues on online platform
    • Summarize status, outcome, issues of all reported compliance issues to internal compliance committees and to ArchCare’s governing bodies.
    • Coordinates the presentation of results of compliance investigations and monitoring activities by ArchCare Entities for compliance meetings and Board meetings, reviewing and improving format and content.

    Experience Requirements

    Minimum of 3 years Medicare or Medicaid regulatory compliance experience
