Overview

Performs auditing and tracking of compliance activities as assigned.  Aggregates data and reports results to QA manager or VP Compliance and Quality as directed.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Assists with NYS Department of Health Survey and Joint Commission Accreditation Preparation and survey visit functions.
  2. Completes clinical record audits and aggregates data as required including but not limited to:
  3. QA quarterly reviews
  4. Joint Commission Periodic Performance Reviews
  5. Therapy utilization and documentation audits
  6. Focused audits and tracking assigned
  7. Insures incident reports are completed for all potentially avoidable events.
  8. Collects and aggregates data on incidents, infections and complaints
  9. Collects and aggregates risk management data and HR compliance.
  10. Distributes and aggregates staff orientation, mentor and office environmental surveys.
  11. Tracks CMS record requests (ADRs, ZPICs, CERTs etc.) and performs final review of records before submission and completes appeals as required
  12. Tracks and aggregates reports of Unsigned Physician orders
  13. Assists with the completion of QA and Compliance Dashboards
  14. Checks Compliance Hotline weekly for messages and reports if messages are left to Compliance Officer
  15. Assists QA Manager with Planning for Office and Agency Quarterly QA meetings. Takes and records minutes of the Agency meetings
  16. Daily management of the Quality in Real Time audition process
  17. Attends professional Advisory Committee Meeting as requested
  18. Participates in updating electronic and paper clinical record to ensure documentation compliance
  19. Participates in electronic clinical record education and support to field staff as required

Qualifications

  • Current New York State Registered Nursing License
  • BSN preferred
  • Knowledge of CMS regulatory documentation requirements
  • Knowledge of NYSDOH regulations , Federal COPs and OASIS requirements
  • Computer competency for record auditing
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to guide staff to achieve documentation standards
  • Establishes priorities with the direction of the Quality Manager
